Ft Hunt Flex Leagues offer local tennis enthusiasts the convenience of playing friendly, low-stress yet competitive tennis without the hassle of traipsing all over Northern Virginia. This low-cost flex league serves players in the Ft. Hunt/Mount Vernon area. Division of play for women, men, and mixed are offered in the Spring and Fall. Players may live anywhere, but must be willing to play matches within the league bounds: zip codes 22308, 22307, 22309. This league is organized and managed locally by the players who play in it.
Flex leagues allow you to play organized league tennis on YOUR schedule.
Players are provided with a division roster and a schedule of suggested "play by dates" for each match up.
You can play the week 4 match the first week, or you can play two matches (or more) in a week, or none. You just need to complete the matches by the end of the season.
You and your opponent decide WHEN and WHERE to play. Opponents connect with each other via phone, text, or email to arrange matches on their own terms.
Results are submitted and tracked online. Ft Hunt Flex Leagues use tennispoint.com to manage division assignment/registration, scheduling, scoring, and player communication.

Currently, leagues are offered for women's singles/doubles, men's singles/doubles, and mixed doubles.
Depending on sign-ups, the league commonly runs play level divisions for
"A" - Advanced (NTRP 3.5+)
"B" - Intermediate (3.0-3.5)
"C" - Beginner. (2.5-3.0)
These common groupings are subject to change and may vary season to season depending on sign ups. League organizer may alter number of divisions, levels of play, and player distribution among them based on sign-ups, player self-ratings each season, and player performance in seasons past. Players are asked to self-rate upon creation of their TennisPoint accounts at .25 increments along the NTRP scale to aid in equitable division assignments. Players have the option of retiring if assigned division does not meet their needs.
Which play level is right for you? Summary of NTRP rating scale can be found here.
Doubles players must register as a team and state their preferred partner during registration. A "free agents list" is available each season for players seeking to find potential partners.

My name is Tracy and I'm a tennis enthusiast here in the Ft. Hunt area. I have two kids, a spouse, a dog, a crested gecko, a full-time job, and I run this league because I like to play in it. :) After enjoying several seasons with the MVCT women's summer league, I started this flex league back in 2017 to provide that group - and me - a way to continue playing local competitive tennis year-round. It's fun, it's low-key, it's local.
